An inter-scholastic cooperation agreement signed by more than 10 high schools – including vocational high schools-between Taitung County Schools and CTU, for the purpose of encouraging youngsters come to learn at Chienkuo Technology University
In the hope of striking up a channel for building up more chances of education and employment for the remote rural students of Taitung, and to provide an opportunity to be able to come to the western side of Taiwan bravely and earnestly pursuing the realization of their dreams and be the role model for their fellow local students, CTU President Farn-Shing Chen accompanied the Dean and school executives. They and the department chairs and other colleagues signed a cooperation alliance with more than 10 senior high schools on April 10, 2017. We hope through the context of alliances and cooperation policy with technical colleges and vocational high schools, we can enthusiastically encourage more fellow students of Taitung to come to Changhua.
President Chen claims that not only the technology of the teaching facilities, but also the quality of the instruction at CTU has received highly positive accolade from the Ministry of Education and citizens of all walks of life. He also hopes CTU can perform as a diversified learning platform to cultivate the rural students of Taitung to realize their dreams and become elites of the society the industries in Taiwan.
National Taitung Senior High Principal Rui-Jie Zhang said Taitung County has long been one of the lowest income counties in Taiwan for many years, and the majority of parents have little literacy background. This has led to many social problems due to poverty, especially in rural areas. These students will be able to gain a completely new frame of reference by coming to the Western part of the country, and can enjoy academic advantages and possibly go into business of their own someday. From Taitung to Changhua is a manageable distance to travel; no need to transfer, and it can be reached within six hours by railway. Changhua is at the point of railway intersection between the mountain line and sea line. CTU is located in its downtown zone. This geographical benefit provides a more optimal chance for the students of Taitung to choose CTU for exciting academic opportunities.
