CTU Marks Anniversary with Awards, Displays, and Activities

On May 23, Chienkuo Technology University celebrated its school anniversary with activities, awards for excellence, and displays of its recent accomplishments.
One of the successes highlighted at the event was CTU’s attainment of the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Excellence Project Award for three years in a row. CTU President Huang Yen-Fei commended all the CTU employees who had contributed to the attainment of this annual NT$55.5 million award.
At the ceremony, President Huang bestowed a number of awards to mark the achievements of school employees and students. They included an instructor award for innovative design, an award for successful industry-academia cooperation, an extracurricular-success award for students, and an award for students who attained certificates and licenses. President Huang stated that CTU has tried to enhance the faculty’s teaching techniques and to encourage students to participate in competitions; the awards earned by faculty and students showed that this policy was bearing fruit.
CTU Chairman of the Board Wu Lian-Hsing presented the Third Annual Outstanding Schoolfellow Award. Receiving this award were Huang Ming-Feng, Lai Wun-Chang, Cai Feng-Zhe, Wu Ming-Chao, Cheng Yun-Yong, Cheng Yi-Chang, Cheng Sheng-Yan, Shi Yi-Zhuan, and Weng De-Liang.
In addition to speeches and awards, the day was also marked by many displays of the school’s achievements. They included displays of CTU’s development programs, displays of club activities and accomplishments, and displays of teaching excellence.
The day also included an opening ceremony for the Central Region Digital Public Opinion Research Center in the College of Management.
Over 200 guests attended the anniversary celebration. They included Changhua County Vice-Magistrate Zhang Rui-Bing; Legislators Lin Tsang-Min, Chen Chieh and Wong Chin-Chu; Changhua City Mayor’s wife Wun Wu Li-Qing; Schoolfellow Association Director Zeng Guo-Zhong and Vice-Director Zeng Gui-Fu; Principle Liu Ze-Hong of the National Yuan-Lin Vocational High School of Home Economics and Business; Chairman Zhang Guo-Long of Da Der Commercial and Technical Vocational School; Chairman Cheng Ben-Yuan of Zhi Yong Senior High School; Chairman Xie Zhao-Hong of Tung Der Senior High School; Chairman Lin Chang-Zhou of Chung Mei Enterprises Group; and Director Wang Yiong-An of the First Credit Cooperative of Chang Hua.
To promote interschool cooperation, the special guests included five female athletes from the Tatung Institute of Commerce and Technology in Jia-Yi, who wowed onlookers with an impressive display of their karate skills.
CTU Chairman Wu stated in his comments that the main goal of CTU is to be an excellent university. He encouraged employees, students, and teachers to continue working hard, and he assured the participants that there would be plenty more successes to showcase in next year’s anniversary celebration.
