Freshmen recruitment rate hits 100% and registration rate 95.8%!
The visit of freshmen and their parents to CTU campus was successfull!

The newly recruited freshmen reached 3,435 persons, the recruitment rate is over 100%. The freshmen are now registering at the university, thanks to the overall support to CTU the registration rate hits 95.8% up to September 1.
The activity “Visit CTU Campus” was held on August 14, 2010, freshmen and their parents were invited, so that they can know CTU better. On that day, not only freshmen, but also their parents, even grandparents, came to CTU as well. Among them are also the very impressing families with parents as CTU alumni, they accompanied the children to CTU for undergraduate/graduate program.
Prof. Yenfei Hwang, President of CTU, pointed out that being a university for teaching, CTU needs to emphasis not only teaching of theory but also practice. In addition to completing the required credits, students need to do practical projects or internship for 3 semesters. President Hwang said, CTU wants to give students such capabilities they can utilize in their career, and therefore students are requested to get certificates for profession, computer and English during their study.
After the speech of President Hwang, freshmen and their family were led to their departments for visit and Q&A. The department chair and class leading professors had face to face interaction and communication with students and their parents, so that they can have a clear picture about the specialty and development of the department as well as the curriculum, faculty members and the career planning.

商設系馮文君老師榮獲最高榮譽「IF傳達設計獎」

「鴨咪YUMMY有機米系列」是我替禾掌屋商社有限公司在新創立公司後的設計的第一支商品群。當初他們請我設計禾掌屋的公司Logo時,我花了一些時間做市場調查,包括競爭對手的品牌定位分析、生產製造分析、產銷管理分析、市場行銷分析,以及品牌形象分析等;尤其在定位上花了很多時間與客戶溝通;所以進入包裝設計時,非常感恩上天賜給我的靈感,我幾乎是以直覺來作設計,客戶也給予全然的信任,提案一次立即通過,在設計上連一個逗點都沒改,感覺是這系列商品就該是長得那樣。
上市後我則關心於「鴨咪YUMMY」在市場上的反應、消費者接受度、定位方向是否正確等等,其實當時並沒想過參加比賽的問題。可是客戶卻將其中一包米,拿去參加行政院農委會農糧署在北區舉辦的小包米競賽,而得到學者、專業設計師與消費者等,共同評選為冠軍,也很為客戶高興,因為,得獎獎金為他們賺回了印刷費!回想從事設計二十幾年來,除了在台北任職廣告公司時,應公司要求去比賽時報獎,也幸運獲得獎項;此外便是客戶拿我的作品去參加比賽而獲獎。自己關注的大多在市場行銷與消費者的反應,很少參加比賽。
這次真的非常感謝建國科大設計學院陳若華院長等各級師長對於師生參加校外競賽的推動,以及系上各位教授們的鼓勵,而去參加德國IF communication design award(視覺傳達設計獎/包裝類),沒想到真的幸運地獲獎!剛收到得獎通知的mail時,一時還反應不太過來。等到真正領會到得獎這個事實時,真的很開心,覺得自己太幸運了,也為客戶鬆了一口氣呢!因為這麼一來,也算是給小包米外銷市場開啟了新的可能。能得獎,一路走來受到許多人的協助,包括共事的客戶行銷陳美英、小插畫家陳柏安、幫忙翻譯德文的朋友、印刷廠等等,以及許多朋友在設計之路上的支持,我真的非常感謝。我會繼續努力,還請大家繼續指教,非常感恩!
編按:2010德國iF傳達設計獎(iF communication design award)得獎名單日前揭曉,本校商設系馮文君老師「鴨咪YUMMY有機米系列」榮獲最高榮譽「IF傳達設計獎」。德國iF傳達設計獎堪稱商品設計界的「奧斯卡」,今年有來自全球26個國家的廠商參賽,在15位重量級評審嚴格把關下,馮文君老師產品能於如此激烈之競爭中脫穎而出,獲得此獎項之榮譽,亦肯定了本校設計發展的成熟度與教師素質優越。
