The Dept. of Digital Media Design GUO WEI TING was a representative of the Chinese team in 2010 and attended the Czech-World Youth Games for wheelchair racing and won the bronze medal.

GUO WEI TING is an “Osteogenesis Imperfecta” student in the second grade of the Dept. of Digital Media Design at Chienkuo Technology University. He was a representative of the Chinese team in 2010 and attended the Czech-World Youth Games for wheelchair racing and won the bronze medal. GUO WEI didn’t give up easily. Not only does GUO WEI love sports, but he also had an outstanding performance in an animation competition.
WEI TING was born in Kaohsiung County. As a child, he cried very often. After being diagnosed by the hospital, Wei ting's parents were surprised at the results. Their child suffered from nature Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
At first, WEI TING's parents gave up him. During his childhood, WEI TING thought that he had no stock in his life, until studying in high school. WEI TING was encouraged by his PE teacher, and he became interested in baseball. In this way, WEI TING realized a sports dream. WEI TING was the school team’s basketball leader, and he was a member of the Kaohsiung County team. During this period Wei ting also became interested in badminton, but he became the player with the lowest rating in the Kaohsiung County team.
As a freshman, WEI TING started to practice track and field. In his first race, which got the third place of a hundred meters in Taiwan, he also placed second in the President Cup national team. Suddenly, WEI TING received a recommendation from the Republic of China Disabled Sports Federation in which he was selected for the national team. During that summer vacation, WEI TING planned his study program, but the plan was changed to the national team training camp. Afterward, he had to practice from 5 o'clock A.M until 9 P.M. His whole body ached during the training, which is a very hard process. After training one month, WEI TING went to the Czech Republic by plane, and got in the door of the 2010 World Youth Games.
After arriving in the Czech Republic, the IBSA medical team menially started the posture rating and started the game with no adjustment for different time. Player ratings can be divided into T52, T53, T54 levels, and WEI TING’s rating was T53. Twenty three countries participated in this competition. WEI TING said, “I feel so happy “when he got the bronze medal. The award ceremony was held during an afternoon thundershower, and the heavy rain accompanied WEI Ting’s tears of joy when watching the national flag rise. After his training and competition, WEI TING has proven that, “Even as a “glass baby” anything can be done.”
