Welcome to Vice President Dun-Yi Wu, who visited and planted a tree on our campus at CTU.

Vice President Dun-Yi Wu visited CTU in the afternoon of Feb. 23rd, 2014 while addressing more than 300 faculty members, he emphasized that the procedure of opening up opportunities for mainland Chinese students to study in Taiwan have to be meticulous and stable. He also claimed that the government will give its best effort to set up a great learning environment, thus allowing Taiwanese education to move forward, and continue the miraculous improvements of education systems in Taiwan.
Vice President Dun-Yi Wu, escorted by the Magistrate of Changhua, Po-Yuan Cho, Legislators Ru-Fen Cheng, and Hui-Mei Wang, and chairman of Taiwan Water Corporation Gun-Ming Wuan, arrived at CTU at 5:30 pm on February 23rd. They were welcomed passionately by Chairman Lang-Chin Wu, President Farn-Shing Chen, as well as 300 teachers and students. Everyone took pictures in front of the library.
Vice President Dun-Yi Wu and Po-Yuan Cho gave “thumbs up” to show that CTU is a great university. Then they took photos individually.
Chairman Lang-Chin Wu plead to President Wu on behalf of the service as the title of former administrator of the private school culture and education association, hoping that the government in Taiwan will open the door more widely to the enrollment of students from mainland China. Vice President Dun-Yi Wu said that the government has already gradually taken the steps dealing with this issue; especially since the people in cross-straits are of Chinese descent, the two should closely intertwine themselves economically, culturally, and politically.
In this way, mutual understanding is induced and advantages are provided for both places. Besides this point, he emphasized that every step should be taken steadily. Vice President Dun-Yi Wu indicated that the number of students from China studying to earn major, academic, and Bachelor degrees has increased by more than 20,000 people in recent years. Due to the considerations of current humanity and education policies, our government has planned to let students from China join the National Health Insurance membership; this proposed law has been sent to the legislators of Taiwan.
Vice-president Dun-Yi Wu praised our school for breaking fresh ground, and praised school administration for advancing by leaps and bounds under board chairman Lang-Chin Wu’s guidance. CTU has had the honor of rewarding the prominent tuition plan from the Ministry of Education for nine years, having become an established college in Changhua county and central Taiwan. He gave acclaim to board chairman Lang-Chin Wu, who has gained educational distinction on a national level in Taiwan.Vice-president Wu indicated that government should provide better ways to run a school in the following manner:
Let those schools which have the intent of improving have their attention. Vice-president Wu also responded to board chairman Wu’s invitation that he will facilitate one more such day on CTU’s 50th anniversary.
While expressing appreciation to the crowds, President Farn-Shing Chen stated excitedly that CTU has already received the honor of the Ministry of Education’s Tuition Prominence Plan for nine consecutive years; it’s also one of the 26 technology universities able to transact School Evaluation. Moreover, President Chen indicated that next year is CTU’s 50th anniversary of being a chartered school.
He gave a genuine welcome to Vice-president Wu to our sports day for guiding us, and for gracing the occasion with his presence. Tree-Planting Day is coming around! Vice-president Dun-Yi Wu, board chairman Lang-Chin Wu , President Farn- Shing Chen , chief executive Shan-Jiang Jin, Magistrate of Changhua Po-Yuan Cho, Legislator Ru-Fen Cheng, Hei-may Wang ,ex-county magistrate Gang-meng Ruan , governor Wen-fu Shu, Kan-ren Zeng, Zi-li Kang, supervisor Min-shung Huang and twelve others had planted a tree deeply rooted in the ground named Fu Shun. They gave best wishes for CTU to have a long and prosperous life, and to have the opportunity to educate as many students as possible.
Vice-president Wu declared that education is as important as a tree, which takes ten years to grow. It would be much more significant when it comes to growing big trees on our lovely school campus; Vice-president Wu also blessed CTU with a promising future, as flourishing as the tree he grew.
